Registration for this year’s City Cycling in Berlin opens on April 1, 2026. Freie Universität’s Sustainability & Energy Unit is offering prizes to the top three teams from our university.

The goal of City Cycling is to encourage more people to use bicycles on a regular basis in order to help protect the climate. During the twenty-one-day campaign, participants try to collect as many CO2-free kilometers as possible by tracking their bicycle use. In Berlin the City Cycling campaign is organized by the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Action, and the Environment.

On June 25, 2026, Freie Universität’s Sustainability & Energy Unit will announce the top three teams at this year’s Summer Fest. With some fantastic prizes up for grabs, you won’t want to miss out! The winning teams will be notified in advance.

Anyone interested in participating can register on the City Cycling website at www.stadtradeln.de/berlin. You can start a team of your own or join one that has already formed. Then just hop on your bike as often as possible during the campaign!
